Our client was injured when a piece of metal fell from a crane and struck him on the head while he was at work. A claim was made to his employers alleging negligence on the part of a fellow employee who caused the piece of metal to fall and an unsafe system of work. As a result of the accident our client suffered a traumatic brain injury which led to chronic headaches, behavioural change and mood changes. We obtained reports from an A&E Consultant, a Consultant Neurologist, a Consultant Psychiatrist, a Consultant Neuropsychologist, an Employment expert and a Consultant Actuary.

Thankfully our client, Mr S was able to continue working but had ongoing symptoms. Liability was not admitted so a court action was raised in ASPIC. We made an application to court for interim damages to help Mr S get back on his feet while the case was ongoing. He was given a £10,000 interim payment. The case eventually settled just before the court hearing for £60,000. The case was very medically complicated and required a good understanding of the specialties involved. NewLaw Scotland ensured the client got the compensation he deserved to help him move on with his life.
